WORK I DID?
Let's start!

After understanding and exploring the app Party SignUp, properly understanding the ongoing and long term company's aim and goals and discussing the same with our Sir, I did a little more competitor's analysis.

to get in depth idea and
to understand and know -
a. Features currently in market
b. There feature’s pros and cons and where we stand
c. User pain points from similar apps in market now a days
d. Pricing plans and packs

After getting answers to all the above questions, I documented the same and then started analyzing the same. I started comparing them with our app a little to understand what points I can consider and what I can not consider, understanding UX Gaps in the market, and where do we stand, also relating it to the company's plans and goals.

COMPETITOR'S ANALYSIS

So, I started off by-
1. Understanding the app
2. Understanding the ongoing and long term company's aims and goals with respect to the "Party SignUp" app.
3. And then having meetings with our Sir (Founder of the Party SignUp App)

HOW DID I START?
(this phase and my internship in general)

USER SURVEY (SURVEY FORM) &
TELEPHONIC SURVEY &
TELEPHONIC USER INTERVIEW &
POLLS

We had to understand certain things depending on the business goals, ideas, plans and the current app scenario.

We had to understand the virtual entertainers- their pain points, expectations, experiences and will they be interested in our app, to tie up with as. So I prepared and conducted a survey on the same, got few responses in total and the responses overall was quite positive!

Then we had to understand the Non-Profit Organisations- their pain points, expectations and about their working (similar kind questions) to understand if we can tie up with them and plan accordingly. I so prepared a survey and gave it to our Sir (he wanted to conduct this later)

Then we had to understand different event organizing and management related things from users who are well aware of the thing and they do it quite often. So we created a survey for the meetup organizers and submitted the form to our Sir (as we had other things to focus on currently so he wanted to conduct this later)

We had to understand the user experience- for which we created and conducted a survey question and I and one of my teammate took telephonic survey (individually) of those users who have used our app Party SignUp in the past recently (Sir forwarded new contacts to us)

We also did a telephonic user interview to understand the experience, expectations, pain points and opinions of people regarding the same!

I conducted some in between Polls to help designers, developers and our Sir take better decisions in terms of features, design changes, etc.

EYE TRACKING AND ANALYSING &
ANALYSING ANALYTICS &
UX MODIFICATIONS BASED ON THE ANALYSIS

We (me and one of my team mate) tracked user behavior and started analyzing that and the analytics for our Party SignUp App on Smartlook and Mixpanel every month and month wise we created document for the same. Also I learnt about Mixpanel and Smartlook from here and I love it!

Each month we created document consisting of what is the analytics and what we should conclude from that, where do we see users behaving differently, noted feedback question we needed from direct users each month and did the same and then after understanding all this, we created the UX Modifications that should be done to rectify the issues.

APP (USABILITY) TESTING

During app testing we (I and one of my teammate) checked for 3 main things-
- If there is any bug in the current app
- If the UX Modifications suggested and approved, implemented or not- and if it is- is it implemented and working properly
- Usability and experience of the current app.

This was done on both android and IOS

After the test we passed on our analysis to our Sir which then went to UX Designers and Developers.

RESEARCHING AND WORKING ON
MAKING THE APP MORE SOCIAL/APPEALING

There was a phase when our sir concentrated also on making the app more social and appealing to attract users and make their experience happier, also keeping our business in mind.

He thus ideated first alone and then with me and one of my teammates and then, me and my teammate started researching on the points we ideated and decided on.

We researched and worked on making the app more social/appealing, by personas (these being our long term work goal for this part)-
a. Make app more social for guests and host
b. Make app more social between us and users
c. Make app more social between users and non users and search engines (thru UGC - user-generated content)

We created a proper document consisting of what we found, how far we think it will be useful for us, how far will it be good for our users in terms of what we provide and their experience, if we keep the features what should be the estimate pricing (after understanding the market and the competitors) and so on.

We then passed on the document to Sir for him to take further steps as needed.

LET'S RECAP!
